Quality Assessment of Requirement Specifications using Metrics

چکیده

The presented research investigates the possibilites and limitations of metrics in assessing the quality of (software) requirement specifications (SRS) and thereby aims to improve the understanding of the notion of quality for those specifications. Essentially, the idea is to define quality depending on the activites the SRS is used for in the engineering process. Based upon a common metamodel to describe and evaluate individual metrics, both the quality model and a systematic literature review serve as sources for potential metrics. Individual measurements are combined according to an assessment model in order to obtain an adequate quality estimation of the SRS. This paper therefore presents the research questions and the associated research plan together with open issues. The author would appreciate feedback.

Software Quality Analysis by Object Oriented Approach and Comparative Analysis with MEMOOD TOOL using UML

Software Quality is the degree to which a finished product conforms to its specifications. The earlier a fault is detected and is removed the easier it is to fix. Object oriented metrics focus on the combination of functions and data as an integrated object. Object oriented paradigm substantially improves productivity due to the effect of reuse. Requirement specifications, designs and test plan...

Towards a Framework for Improving Goal-Oriented Requirement Models Quality

Goal-orientation is a widespread and useful approach to Requirements Engineering. However, quality assessment frameworks focused on goaloriented processes are either limited or remain on the theoretical side. Requirements quality initiatives range from simple metrics applicable to requirements documents, to general-purpose quality frameworks that include syntactic, semantic and pragmatic concer...

A New Suite of Metrics for Object-Oriented Software

Software practitioners need to be able to assess the quality of their software, and metrics provide an automated way to do that. Traditional software metrics count aspects of code related to its syntax. In contrast, semantic metrics, introduced by Etzkorn and Delugach, count things related to the meaning of software in its domain. Because semantic metrics do not depend on the structure of the c...
